- Expensive for a small cooking appliance

Test score
verdict: The money-no-object option
This air fryer is impressive in every measure – cooking amazing chips and chicken quickly, with easy-to-use controls and its all dishwasher safe. The auto programs make it more versatile than most air fryers, too, as it can make wet dishes like casseroles and curries. And the extra cooking tray lets you cook two different foods at once.
- Fantastic frying
- Extra versatility with the cooking tray and auto programs
- Easy to use and dishwasher safe
- Clear lid lets you watch the cooking
- Size makes it difficult to store and take up a lot of room on the counter top

Test scoreShow Context

Which? verdict: Brilliant behemoth air fryer
The Ninja OL750UK Ninja Foodi Max 15-in-1 is one of the best air fryers we’ve tested, creating golden-brown food that’s crispy but not dried-out. It has many extra features as well, so whether it’s worth a purchase depends on how many cooking functions you need. But as an air fryer alone, it’s exceptional.
- Top cooking performance
- Loads of cooking functions
- Easy to use
- Well-built appliance
- Large capacity
- Takes up a lot of worktop space
- Storing accessories can be a hassle
Ninja AF100UK Air Fryer review
Test score
verdict: Fantastic cooking
Ninja’s debut air fryer offering impressed in our tests – it’s a worthy Best Buy. It can cook fantastic chips quickly and the chicken it made really impressed us. It’s not the most energy efficient model we’ve tested, and it’s a little complicated to set up initially, but these minor niggles don’t detract from the fact it’s one of the best fryers we’ve ever tested.
- Fantastic at cooking chips and chicken
- Dishwasher-safe parts
- The basket feels well-built and is easy to handle
- Comes with a great recipe booklet
- It can take longer to set up most other air fryers
- Not energy efficient

Ninja OP350UK review
Test score

verdict: Great air fryer that does a lot more
This multi-cooking pressure cooker works so well as an air fryer that we’ve made it a Best Buy. It’s a little excessive if you just want to cook low-oil chips quickly, but if you want versatility then the Ninja Foodi 9-in-1 Multi-Cooker 6L OP350UK is in a class of its own.
- Brilliant at cooking chips
- Does a great job with meat
- Nine different functions
- Easy to operate

The Vortex 4-in-1 is among the best air fryers we’ve tested, making it a Best Buy. It has many functions and it’s effective at air frying, roasting, baking and reheating while staying relatively fuss-free. If you’re looking for a versatile air fryer that can cook numerous recipes quickly, it’s worth a look.

Ninja Foodi Dual Zone AF300UK review
Test score

verdict: Nearly brilliant
The Ninja Foodi Dual Zone AF300UK is a great air fryer and its two cooking zones make for quicker and more versatile cooking. But this heavyweight air fryer is just shy of a Best Buy, falling short of perfection in cooking performance and ease of use. Despite this, it’s an attractive option for anybody who needs to air fry multiple foods simultaneously.
- Dual-zone technology is efficient and useful
- Cooks great chicken
- Lots of options for customisation
- Impressive capacity
- Large and heavy
- Controls are overwhelming at first
- Can’t see food while cooking
Russell Hobbs Cyclofry Plus 22101-56 review
Test score
verdict: The tastiest chips in the game
Although this air fryer is flawed, the chips it makes are spectacular. If you can put up with long cooking times and scrubbing the basket after you’ve eaten, then this air fryer is certainly the ticket to delicious, healthier chips.
- Excellent chips
- Chicken turns out well
- Clear instructions
- An hour-long wait for chips
- Difficult to clean
- Some usability niggles
Philips HD9260/91 review
Test score

verdict: Big in size, big in quality
The Philips Essential Air Fryer XL HD9260/91 is a great appliance for batch cooking delicious fried goodies with less oil than you would otherwise need. It’s got the capacity, quality and ease of use to make for a solid kitchen companion. And though it’s not among the best, it’s not far off either.
- Can feed up to five in one batch
- Great-quality food
- Can program your own presets
- Easy to use
- Lack of automatic programs out of the box
- No cooking window
- Hefty
Ninja OP450UK review
Test score

verdict: Versatile and high quality
The Ninja OP450UK cooks well enough, but it’s not as good as the Ninja OP350UK, which is a little smaller but has two extra cooking modes (yoghurt and dehydrate). It makes delicious food but it’s not top class, so its high price is hard to justify
- Good cooking
- Easy to program and use
- Large capacity
- Seven different cooking functions
- Expensive
- No viewing window
- High energy use
Instant Pot Pro Crisp 11-in-1 review
Test score

verdict: Not bad
The Instant Pot Pro Crisp 11-in-1 has a lot going for it but doesn’t quite match up to our Best Buy air fryers. It makes decent chips and sensational chicken, but it’s very heavy and there’s no viewing window.
- Makes excellent chicken and very good chips
- Lots of cooking options
- Extremely heavy
- No viewing window
Tefal FZ727840 ActiFry Advance review
Test score

verdict: Makes air frying a breeze
The Tefal FZ727840 ActiFry Advance is a brilliant air fryer, although it lacks the versatility we expect from the very best. But for essential frying tasks, including crispy chips and juicy chicken, it’s a worthwhile purchase we don’t think you will regret.

- Large capacity
- Lack of automatic programs to choose

Instant Pot Duo Crisp & Air Fryer review
Test score

verdict: Behemoth of modest quality
This big air fryer cooks up delicious chips and chicken, and if you’re after a pressure cooker too then it’s incredibly versatile. - Hugely versatile
- Easy to program
- Great for big batches of cooking
- Takes up a lot of storage space
- Slow

DeLonghi IdealFry FH2133.W review
Test score
verdict: Inconsistent cooking
Inconsistent cooking is the downfall of this air fryer. While the chicken we fried up was perfect, the chips left a lot to be desired. It isn’t dishwasher safe, either. All-in-all, we think you can get better Best Buy air fryers for less.
- Fantastic at cooking chicken
- Can fry a large amount quickly
- Simple controls
- Has a viewing window
- Chips are fried unevenly
- Not dishwasher safe

- Manual isn’t very helpful for troubleshooting
Ninja Foodi Multi-Cooker OP300UK review
Test score
verdict: Fantastic Food(i)
There is a lot to like about the Ninja Foodi, including the golden, crispy and fluffy chips it can make. But the size, weight and lack of pre-set functions means it isn’t as user friendly as other air fryers or multi-cookers.
- Lots of cooking functions and settings
- Good at air frying chips and chicken
- Dishwasher safe
- Easy to use controls
- Wasteful with energy
- Really large and heavy
- No pre-set options
Ninja AF400UK Ninja Foodi Max Dual Zone Air Fryer review
Test score

verdict: Large, but not great
Like the smaller AF300UK before it, the The Ninja Foodi Max Dual Zone Air Fryer AF400UK is a little average when it comes to cooking performance. Its strength is that it enables you to cook two different foods with separate times and using separate functions. But unless a large capacity is very important to you, we’d recommend the AF300UK instead.
- Cooks two meals at once
- Easy to use
- Offers a lot of customisation
- Underwhelming cooking performance when full
- No window to see what you’re cooking
